The 1930s sourcebook I pre-ordered on 17 August 2011 that has had continual delays since then has in the past week been put off for another 568 days.

That's not a delay that's beyond a joke.  I've just emailed www.bookdepository.co.uk asking to cancel the order for a refund.  I can wait 5-9 months for a book I really want but NOT another 568 days.

This past week I've had an attack of the clicky finger. I bought fabric, patterns from Ageless and today I went to bookdepository.co.uk and bought 3 books off my wishlist. the extra 10% discount made me go hmmm I can haz that. And that. And that.

Okely dokely, this book has been in my wishlist for ages, but as many of my friends own it I haven't rushed to buy it.  Until today.  I found an inexpensive copy on eBay and my pre-order of theFashion Sourcebook - 30s has had a publishing delay. Last night I wanted to go to bed when I got home, so I didn't risk sewing cos of the danger of stoopid.   I'm creating a new upstairs 'pile o stuff' that needs to be culled & organised.   In it is the stays pattern pieces I need for later this week.  I gotta get busy on it & thankfully already know it'll be quick to sew once I get the pattern sized ( Read more... )

I used my google-fu and tracked down a copy of Moden 1700 arene in the Danske Dragter series. It wasn't from amazon or biblio but a german site. yayyy.  The postage is as much as the book but it still came to a bit under $AU85.  I'm ridiculously happy to have ordered it today.  To be a wee bit morbid I ought to make my will & leave my books to ( Read more... )
